Smart mounting and imaging software

Overview

Daemon Tools is a virtual drive and optical disk imaging software for Windows and macOS.

Disk imaging programs have tons of uses that extend beyond simply creating a copy of your computer system. It could also help mount images, burn them for sharing as well as emulate virtual drives.

These are some of the features that Daemon Tools offer. The software initially existed as a successor to the Generic SafeDisc emulator, but it has evolved since then.

Today, you’ll find six different editions of Daemon Tools with varying license types and features. Regardless of the edition, all versions of Daemon Tools offer the same solution, and that’s disc authoring.

Features of Daemon Tools

1. Remote Backup

The software comes with a remote access dashboard to enable users to manage and store data from native applications.

2. Image Mounting

Daemon Tools is exceptional at image mounting and emulating drives.

The software tool can mount a wide variety of standard image types from Explorer. Also, the disk imaging software works with both dynamic and fixed virtual disks, allowing users to create as much as 32 virtual disks.

3. Storage Options and Formats

This disc cloning software has rich support for multiple file formats.

What’s more, the program offers various storage options. You can store your images locally, on an external hard drive, or optical media. The software also provides the choice of cloud server storage.

4. Media Info Panel

This software has a Media info panel to keep gamers up-to-date- on gaming industry news, reviews, and other info.

5. On-Demand Restoration

Thanks to this feature, users can restore files to its original location — or an alternative source — on demand. However, it’s somewhat limited.

6. Reporting

Daemon Tools offer an in-depth reporting feature. Not only does it actively monitor the status of work stations, but it also provides detailed documentation to administrators.

7. Data Encryption

Daemon Tools provide some level of encryption of data in transit. That way, your sensitive data can remain protected while it lives in the backup application.

For example, when you split your data across multiple discs, Daemon’s TrueCrypt security could help prevent unauthorized access.

The Daemon Tool disk imaging software is not the most robust as far as restoration functionality is concerned. However, it’s suitable for anyone that needs a powerful virtual drive emulation and full storage option. Moreover, its media info panel feature makes it ideal for gamers.
